Being a Christian is more than being “religious” or going to church on Sunday. It also isn’t simply being a good person. It is all about having a relationship with Jesus. Many know of Jesus Christ but it is possible and vital to know Him in a personal way.

God loves you so much and He created you to know Him personally and experience His love.

John 3:16 says: “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life.”

However, we do not enjoy God’s love and His plan for our lives because we have chosen to rebel against Him and go our own way. The result is that we are separated from God. You might be saying “I’m not a bad person, I don’t really need forgiveness…” or maybe you are saying “There is no way I can be forgiven for all the things I’ve done…” But the reality is that all have sinned. All means ALL. Nobody is so good that they do not need forgiveness. Nobody is so bad that they cannot be forgiven.

Romans 3:23 says “… for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”

Romans 3:10 says “As it is written: ‘There is no one righteous, not even one.’” Romans 6:23 says “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Jesus Christ our Lord.”

You Can Know

Jesus died for you. You can be saved by asking Him for forgiveness of your sins. If you are willing to admit you are a sinner and repent of your sin, He is waiting to forgive you. It doesn’t matter what you have done in the past – if you cry out to Jesus for forgiveness, He will not reject you. The word “repent” literally means “to turn away from”. You need to look at your life, admit that you are a sinner, genuinely desire to turn your back on that sin, and ask Him to forgive you. This is a free gift that God has given to us. We must simply accept that gift. We must understand that we can do nothing to earn God’s forgiveness. He did it all for us, by sending Jesus to die in our place. It is a choice that you have to make. God will not force you. He is waiting for you. All you need to do is ask. Ephesians 2:8-9 says “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith–and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God–not by works, so that no one can boast.”

Acts 16:31 says “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall be saved.” John 1:12 says “To all who received Him, He gave the right to become children of God.”

If you would like to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, you must simply;

1) Turn to God from your own way of living (repentance)
2) Invite Christ to come into your life and trust Him to forgive your sins
3) Allow God to direct your life.

You can pray a prayer from your heart – here’s an example prayer:

Dear Jesus,
I know that I am a sinner and need Your forgiveness. I believe that You died for my sins. I now invite you to come into my heart and life. I want to trust You as Savior and follow You as Lord. Thank you for loving me and for giving me eternal life.

It is important for you to seek a place where Christians gather together for worship. Make it a priority to find a good healthy Bible teaching church, know that you are welcome to worship with us.
