Pastor George and Jana Hillman
astor George is a Montclair native known for years locally and regionally as a musician and songwriter. He still resides in town with his wife Jana and 4 children.
At age 25, George’s life was permanently altered through several events that led to his “becoming a Christian on purpose”. Jesus introduced Himself to George!
Almost immediately George became involved in ministry. Over the years he has served in various churches as a worship leader, youth leader, counselor, evangelist, musician and sound technician.
In 1988 God brought an opportunity for George to build and run a world-class recording studio for a local church. There he recorded and produced many local, national and a few world-renowned artists and ministries.
In 1993 George launched out himself as a Christian singer / songwriter. He recorded an ill-fated but nationally distributed CD called “Walls of Freedom”. He toured locally and all throughout the east coast sharing the stage with well-known Christian artists of that time.
Late in 1994 the call to a different ministry became apparent. George began attending Calvary Chapel of Old Bridge where he was absolutely enamored with - and heavily influenced by verse by verse through the bible teaching. Though he served there in the music ministry and worked in their recording studio, his joy was in doing new believers counseling, auditing bible college classes and attending pastoral training classes.
In the fall of 1999 George was asked if he’d be willing to merge his home bible study with a struggling church in Montclair. In December he assumed the role of senior pastor. That work continues today.
